Key responsibilities:
* Respond to breakdowns, urgent faults, and call-outs across commercial, industrial, and residential sites in the Gladstone region, including participation in after-hours rosters.
* Diagnose, repair, test, and upgrade electrical systems and components such as lighting, appliances, power points, and switchboards, ensuring safety and compliance.
* Conduct preventative and routine maintenance to ensure system reliability and minimise downtime, while following all relevant electrical standards and safety procedures (SWMS, JHAs, Take 5s).
* Manage jobs independently using systems like AroFlo, completing accurate documentation, job notes, and compliance records, while maintaining clear communication with clients.
* Support apprentices, maintain a clean and stocked service vehicle, and foster a team culture focused on safety, learning, and high-quality service.
What You'll Need
* Experience with service-focused contractors like Downer, O'Brien Electrical, Laser Electrical, Programmed Electrical Technologies. Stowe Australia, or local electrical companies.
* Hands-on with breakdowns, small installations, and maintenance in commercial, residential, or facilities settings.
* Familiar with school, aged care, government, or real estate work.
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostics.
* Clear communicator with a customer-first mindset.
* Comfortable working independently across multiple sites.
* Competent with safety procedures and mobile job systems (e.g. AroFlo).
* Neat, safe, and efficient workmanship.
* Local to Gladstone or available to start quickly.
* Willing to mentor apprentices and support a team culture.
Mandatory Requirements
* Current QLD Electrical Work Licence
* Construction White Card
* CPR & LVR (within the last 12 months)
* Current Driver's Licence
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen
* National Police Clearance (within 12 months or willing to obtain)
* Working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and relevant Australian standards
* Strong safety focus and familiarity with SWMS/JHAs/Take 5s
Preferred (but not essential)
* Dual trade (e.g. HVAC, Comms, Instrumentation)
* Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARCtick) or HVAC licence
* ACMA Open Cabler Registration (Structured cabling)
* EWP licence, Working at Heights, Confined Space
* Experience with AroFlo or similar job systems
* Previous exposure to data, CCTV, access control, or thermal imaging
