About the Role BOQ Group are on the lookout for three exceptional Head of Line 1 Risk - Transformation & Operations.
You will play a fundamental role in our transformation journey to building a stronger, more resilient bank by ensuring BOQ Group's risk management practices are robust and effective.
As our Head of Line 1 Risk – Transformation and Operations, your role is vital for driving a proactive risk culture across the division, whilst enhancing the organisation's ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, including those associated with criminal activity.
This includes overseeing frameworks and processes to detect, prevent, and respond to financial crimes such as fraud, money laundering, and other illicit behaviours that threaten the integrity of the organisation.
The role involves ensuring risk management frameworks and strategies are well-integrated into business operations, strengthening the Group's control environment, improving its risk position, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and anti-crime requirements.
Additionally, this role promotes innovative risk management solutions, aligning risk practices with the strategic direction and growth objectives of BOQ Group, ultimately contributing to the organisation's long-term resilience and success.
You will be responsible for building and leading a team of experienced operational risk, compliance, and financial crime professionals.
This team will partner closely with the broader business to embed the Line 1 Risk Operating Model, covering operational risk, compliance, regulatory change, and anti-criminal activity measures.
Empathetic leadership will be instrumental in implementing the Group's Risk Management Strategy, Frameworks, and Standards.
Collaboration with key stakeholders across the three lines of defence will be essential to ensure alignment of strategic priorities, effective control design, and robust measures to combat financial crimes.
You will also provide thought leadership to risk teams, fostering collaboration, mentoring, and developing a succession pipeline through a collaborative environment.About you As an experienced Line 1 Risk leader, you bring a wealth of expertise in driving risk outcomes, enhancing control environments, and uplifting risk maturity within complex organisations.
You hold a background in Finance, Business, or Risk Management, complemented by substantial senior leadership experience in financial services or a related industry.
Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, or CPA further solidify your credentials.
Your ability to develop and implement robust risk management frameworks is matched by your deep domain knowledge, particularly in areas like Technology, Cybersecurity, or Financial Crime.
Your analytical and problem-solving skills allow you to navigate challenges with precision, while your effective communication and interpersonal abilities foster collaboration and inspire teams.
You are a confident leader, capable of mentoring others and building a strong succession pipeline within your organisation.
Your organisational and project management expertise ensures that strategic priorities are consistently achieved.
