About the role
We are seeking a Lecturer in Molecular Biotechnology to join the School of Life Sciences where you will contribute to teaching, research, and engagement. This position has arisen due to the award of an Al and Val Rosenstrauss Fellowship by the Rebecca L. Cooper Medical Research Foundation to Dr Chantal Donovan. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate educator to undertake teaching duties and to coordinate the delivery of courses.
You will also undertake research aligned with Dr Donovan's respiratory health program within the Molecular Biotechnology discipline and contribute to raising the research profile of the Faculty. This will be demonstrated through the quality and impact of research outputs and the ability to attract external research funding appropriate to the level of appointment.
In this role, you will coordinate, teach and assess across areas related to the Bachelor of Science (Medical Science), Bachelor of Advanced Science (Pre-Medicine/Pharmaceutical Science), Bachelor of Medical Science (Medical and Health-related sciences), Bachelor of Molecular Biotechnology. You will produce high-quality research outcomes, including securing internal and external funding, publishing in leading journals, and managing small research projects.
The role also involves supervising Honours, Masters and Doctoral students and building strong connections with industry and the wider academic community.
About You
You will bring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with colleagues, students and industry partners. With experience in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, you will demonstrate leadership in developing teams and fostering productive collaborations. You will also have the capability to supervise Honours, Masters and Higher Degree Research students, supporting their academic and professional success. Other requirements include:
* PhD in a medical science related field.
* Ability to teach molecular biotechnology and medical science in higher education
* Evidence of successful leadership in subject design and delivery
* Experience in research activities with evidence of an emerging publication track record

Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $125,240 - $148,229 (Level B), plus 17% superannuation (pension)
The positions are full-time and will be made on a 5-year fixed term basis.
