Payroll Specialist Role
We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in Brisbane, Australia. As a pivotal member of the payroll unit, you will play a key role in delivering efficient and timely payroll services while providing exceptional support to colleagues across all levels of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process pay and entitlements accurately and efficiently in line with current legislation and organisational policy to ensure all employees receive correct remuneration.
* Provide high-quality advice and customer support to team members and managers through dedicated advice channels such as phone lines and email correspondence.
* Collaborate closely with People & Development colleagues to deliver expert calculations, guidance, and solutions for payroll-related queries.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times while managing sensitive employee information within Human Resources and Payroll Information Systems.
* Demonstrate excellent organisational skills by managing multiple priorities under pressure, meeting tight deadlines without compromising accuracy or attention to detail.
* Engage professionally with stakeholders across various teams, modelling values of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork in every interaction.
* Undertake additional responsibilities or tasks as required by the team or management to support overall business objectives.
* Contribute positively to a safe workplace by taking reasonable care for your own health and safety as well as that of others who may be affected by your actions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a medium-to-large organisation using contemporary HR/Payroll Information Systems.
* Proven ability to interpret complex legislation and organisational policies related to pay entitlements with accuracy and clarity.
* Exceptional organisational skills enabling you to manage competing demands while consistently meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality or confidentiality.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through accurate documentation, clear advice provision, and effective stakeholder engagement.
* A collaborative approach that enables you to work effectively within diverse teams while contributing positively towards shared goals.
* Technological adeptness allowing you to apply different digital tools for gathering information efficiently and processing evidence-based decisions.
* Learning agility reflected in your capacity to adapt quickly to new requirements or changes in processes while proactively seeking out new trends or developments relevant to payroll operations.
* Analytical thinking skills enabling you to extract insights from data sets, identify patterns or risks, and provide informed recommendations for process improvements.
* Previous experience in PeopleSoft is highly regarded; however, experience in Aurion is also beneficial.
