About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our team. This is a key role within the payroll function, supporting the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across Australian Vintage.
The role is based in our Adelaide office at Cowandilla, with a hybrid working environment supported. We are genuinely open to flexible working arrangements, including part-time hours and school-friendly schedules.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a senior, hands-on role in end-to-end payroll processing and act as a key support and backup to the Payroll Manager. You will work closely with People & Culture and Finance, support payroll compliance and system accuracy, and contribute to payroll improvements and projects as the function continues to evolve.

What you'll do:
* Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time in line with payroll calendars
* Interpret and apply awards, enterprise agreements, employment contracts, and the National Employment Standards
* Maintain accurate payroll data within Chris21 and associated time and attendance systems
* Act as a backup to the Payroll Manager to ensure continuity of payroll delivery
* Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers in a timely and professional manner
* Support payroll reporting, reconciliations, and statutory obligations
* Contribute to payroll process improvements and system enhancements
What you'll bring:
* Strong experience in payroll processing within an award-based environment
* Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and compliance requirements
* Experience using payroll systems such as Chris21
* High attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines
* A collaborative and practical approach, with clear communication skills
