About the Roles
Chartair is seeking a Continuing Airworthiness Support Engineer and a Maintenance Planner/Tech Records Officer to join our team.
These roles are based at Darwin Airport and are central to supporting the Continuing Airworthiness Manager and ensuring our aircraft are maintained to the highest safety and regulatory standards.
You'll be responsible for maintaining aircraft records, coordinating with maintenance organisations, and assisting in airworthiness and reliability reviews. The Support Engineer role is a dynamic position requiring both technical and organisational skills. Our Maintenance Planner/Tech Records Officer will be responsible for managing aircraft records, both positions will work closely across operations, and maintenance providers.
Future development opportunities exist for career progression to positions with greater responsibility including the possibility of Deputy Continuing Airworthiness Manager (DCAM).
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and update aircraft records.
* Work proactively and forecast scheduled maintenance using Maintenance Management Software (MMS) and submit for approval by Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM) and the Head of Engineering (HOE).Generate and manage work orders.
* Support airworthiness reviews, reliability reviews, and AMP/SOM revisions.
* Review and action Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA).
* Compile work packs for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance using data from MMS, Approved Maintenance Programs (AMP), Systems of Maintenance (SOM) and Manufacturer's Maintenance Manuals (MM) etc, from online Technical Publications Library-Veryon; as required.
* Liaise with OEMs, CAR 21M representatives, and AMOs regarding modifications and repairs.
* Process the completed work packages in the MMS. Capture and schedule all life limited components, re-schedule recurring maintenance items and enter all the defect rectifications and additional maintenance work carried out; into MMS according to ATA chapters.
* Prepare the maintenance due list for the Maintenance Release (MR) of aircraft for the next MR period using MMS.
* Generate the log entries from MMS for the Airframes engines and propellers and update the logbooks.
* Carry out any other additional tasks as directed by the CAM
* Provide support across Chartair bases as required including but not limited to Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs.
* Liaise and work closely with maintenance organisations.
* Participate in meetings and safety initiatives.
Skills & Knowledge
* Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office + aircraft maintenance management software).
* Understanding of CASA regulatory frameworks including CASR Part 145 and CASR Part 42.
* Demonstrated experience in aviation or aircraft engineering and aircraft maintenance environments.
* Knowledge of aircraft utilisation monitoring (hours, cycles, TTIS).
* High attention to detail with proven ability to maintain data integrity in a Maintenance Information System.
* Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
* Effective communication and coordination skills.

Qualifications
* Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Support Engineer), or
* Experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Support Engineer), or
* Certificate IV in Aircraft Maintenance (Support Engineer/Maintenance Planner), or
* Diploma in Aviation Maintenance Management (Support Engineer/Maintenance Planner), or
* Experience in G.A. aircraft maintenance planning (Maintenance Planner).
