MacKellar Group has partnered with Middlemount Coal since 2015, providing a BIG equipment hire fleet with full maintenance service at the Middlemount Coal mine site.

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our growing and well-established operation at Middlemount Mine.

Your new role
Secure a permanent position within our well-established maintenance department at Middlemount Mine in the Bowen Basin. Working a 7/7 rotating roster duties include-- Lead machine maintenance activities, including component replacement, component overhaul, general repairs, fault diagnostics, PM servicing, daily refueling and inspections
- Ability to work day and night shifts
- Execute planned repairs within time and cost requirements
- Be self-motivated and able to direct a team
- Be committed to procedure based preventative maintenance.
What you'll need to succeed
- Trade qualified with post-trade experience in the mining industry (Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter or Plant Mechanic)
- Prior experience in Leading Hand position
- Current Coal Board Medical & Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Queensland driver licence
- Experience with heavy earth moving equipment.
