About the Role

Located 472 kilometres north‑west of Adelaide, South Australia, Carrapateena is part of our Minerals Australia operations, within the Copper South Australia province. The mine is located on the traditional land of the Kokatha people. Carrapateena produces copper concentrate and is one of the largest mining projects in South Australia in the last decade.
As an Underground Monitoring Technician, you will work in the Ventilation team, reporting to the Ventilation & Radon Decay Product (RDP) Supervisor. In this role, your immediate and core focus will be conducting daily RDP monitoring and airflow readings throughout Carrapateena's underground operations aligned with the site's RDP monitoring schedule and operational priorities.
Please note this position is based at Carrapateena on a FIFO from Adelaide basis, on an 8 days on / 6 days off, 7 nights on / 7 days off roster.
In this role you will:
- Conduct RDP monitoring readings across production and development levels
- Record and report RDP, airflow, and temperature data accurately in accordance with site standards
- Perform fault‑finding and monitoring to maintain and optimise secondary ventilation system performance
- Assist with RAD8 monitoring and data collection to assess radon exhaust efficiency across the extraction network
- Communicate findings, anomalies, and improvement opportunities to key stakeholders including the Ventilation, Mining, and Operational teams
- Support the Ventilation and RDP Supervisor in implementing improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance to plan

- Demonstrated teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Proactive commitment to safety and continuous improvement
- High attention to detail and ability to work autonomously in underground environments
- Underground mining experience (highly regarded)
- A commitment to developing safety leadership and technical capability within the team
- Familiarity with ventilation systems or environmental monitoring (desirable)
