About the opportunity
The General Manager will lead the overall operations of Ice Box Liquor, overseeing store performance, people, marketing, purchasing, and systems. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of the business—strengthening systems and processes, supporting the store network, elevating marketing and customer engagement, whilst ensuring operational consistency across all sites. You’ll play a key part in strategic planning while remaining hands‑on and connected to staff, stores, and customers.
Key responsibilities
* Providing operational leadership across all retail stores and the Head Office team.
* Strengthening systems, processes, and reporting frameworks.
* Supporting Store Managers and Head Office staff through coaching, development and clear communication.
* Driving commercial performance including sales growth, margin improvement, procurement and budgeting.
* Ensuring marketing, promotions and customer engagement initiatives reflect the brand and deliver strong results.
* Maintaining high standards of store presentation, safety, compliance and customer service.
About you
We are looking for an experienced senior retail leader, ideally from multi‑site environments within an aligned industry such as liquor, FMCG, convenience, pharmacy or hardware. You bring strong commercial acumen, operational discipline and a practical, team‑focused leadership style. You thrive in businesses built on relationships and community. You are approachable and hands‑on, and you’re someone who can build trust across teams. You should demonstrate experience in building reporting and business processes and be able to guide a growing retail network through its next chapter with confidence and care.
