Our national Corporate & Commercial group advises clients across various sectors on corporate and commercial transactions, including:
M&A – private and public; domestic and cross-border;
Equity capital markets (ECM) and fundraising;
Private equity and venture capital;
Joint ventures, partnerships and restructures;
Complex commercial agreements;
Corporate governance and compliance;
Company secretarial matters.
About the role
Based in our Sydney office, our national Corporate & Commercial practice seeks an experienced regulatory and commercial lawyer with specialised competition expertise.
This critical role focuses on competition and consumer law while supporting transactions, particularly regarding ACCC merger reform.
The role includes varied commercial work, especially in technology and related areas.
This is an opportunity to join Holding Redlich during an exciting growth period and work with partners nationally, particularly within the firm's TMC group and broader Corporate & Commercial group.
Clients span healthcare, fintech, logistics, professional services, education and automotive sectors.
This position includes a key leadership role in mentoring and supervising team members, with strong career progression prospects.
Operating as a true national practice, this role works closely with partners in Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra on interesting, complex and varied matters.
Given the seniority of this role, you will work directly with clients, operate autonomously, delegate tasks appropriately and provide technical feedback and direction.
About you
You will have at least seven years PAE specialising in transactions, ideally from a mid-tier or national law firm or specialist M&A firm.
You will have excellent drafting and technical skills, advanced interpersonal skills and a track record of building trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
You will have in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and market trends, especially merger regulations, and exposure to commercial agreements and issues including:
Competition law
Consumer law
Software licensing and SaaS agreements
Technology contract negotiation
Data protection
To succeed in this role, you must have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, while genuinely enjoying collaborative teamwork to deliver optimal client outcomes.
