As we grow our Brisbane (Fortitude Valley) office, we’re looking for an experienced Civil Draftsperson to help deliver a diverse portfolio of projects including car parks, high-rises, schools, mixed-use commercial sites, industrial developments, and sports facilities.

About the role
You will contribute to a wide variety of development and infrastructure projects across Queensland. In this role you will be responsible for producing high quality, detailed civil plans/designs and documentation for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
Success in this role requires an understanding of civil design principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders to deliver coordinated and compliant outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
•Produce accurate and detailed civil drawings and documentation using AutoCAD
•Coordinate with engineers, architects, surveyors, and other consultants to ensure plans are current, accurate, and integrated
•Interpret specifications and engineering documentation to deliver practical, constructible designs
•Maintain accuracy, compliance, and quality across all drafting outputs in line with STP’s quality standards
•Conduct civil site inspections and incorporate field findings into design updates
•Manage drawing files, version control, and document workflows
•Assist in preparing design reports, cost estimates, and supporting documentation
•Stay up to date with evolving industry standards, modelling techniques, and applicable legislation
•Ensure designs meet safety, regulatory, and Australian Standards requirements with minimal supervision
•Contribute to the ongoing improvement of drafting systems, tools, and processes
•Provide guidance and mentorship to junior drafters and support drafting teams in other STP offices when required
About you
We are looking for a skilled and proactive draftsperson who takes pride in delivering quality work and enjoys being part of a team. Ideally, you’ll bring:
•5+ years of civil drafting experience, preferably within a consulting environment
•An Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Drafting or Design
•Proficiency in AutoCAD, with the ability to interpret engineering documentation
•Strong knowledge of local and statutory requirements, Australian Standards, and relevant legislation
•A keen eye for accuracy, document control, and drafting standards
•Proven ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and contribute positively to team outcomes
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•An analytical mindset with sound computer literacy
•Unrestricted Australian work rights
