Position Details:
The Production Planning Assistant ensures efficient and timely planning and coordinating of production schedules to meet customer delivery deadlines. The role collaborates closely with production teams, procurement and production and sales support teams to align scheduling with inventory availability and production capacity.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Work Order and Scheduling Support
* Assist with managing work orders to help meet production targets.
* Update and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) system so the production team has the correct parts for each job.
* Help keep production schedules up to date in line with targets.
* Track daily and weekly production progress and alert supervisors to any issues or delays.
Coordination and Communication
* Support production managers, team leaders, and supervisors in organising resources.
* Work with procurement to check materials and supplies are available for upcoming jobs.
* Pass on schedule updates and priorities to relevant teams, including logistics and sales.
Data Entry and Reporting
* Provide regular progress updates to supervisors and management.
* Assist in gathering and reviewing production data to help identify improvements.
Problem-Solving and Process Support
* Flag any scheduling or production issues to the relevant team.
* Support the implementation of small process improvements to help workflow.
* Take part in problem-solving discussions when schedules or quality standards are not met.
Compliance and Quality Support
* Follow company processes to make sure schedules meet quality and safety standards.
* Support the team in following company policies and sustainable manufacturing practices.

* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
