Human Resources Manager

Nyangatjatjara College is seeking the services of an experienced Human Resources Manager who can also assist in performing executive administrative duties. The College is located on Anangu Country in the heart of Australia, adjacent to the tourist resort town of Yulara, minutes away from Australia's national icon Uluru.

Based on your proven expertise in HR, you should have the capacity to learn and use various HR Systems and Financial E-Systems to perform data entry & record keeping, manage financial and administrative systems including payroll, employment contracts and human resources tasks in collaboration with the Operations Manager, CEO Principal and or Executive Leadership Team. You will be invested with primary responsibility to oversee and manage payroll, provide frameworks and delegate staff induction, oversee leave and employment entitlements in line with current Fair Work legislation, including recruitment, retention and exit scenarios.

You will also keep up to date with complex laws, including enterprise agreement, wage and hour laws, anti-discrimination laws, and workplace safety regulation, and invest in employee training and development programs essential for upskilling employees, improving their performance, and enhancing their career prospects including informing on conflict resolution strategies and legal policies to address workplace disputes while assisting in maintaining a positive and productive work environment.


Key duties and responsibilities

1. Able to use various HR and Financial E-Systems for data entry & record keeping, manage financial and administrative systems including payroll, employment contracts and human resources tasks – in collaboration with the Business Manager, Principal and or Executive Leadership Team.
2. Invested with primary responsibility to oversee and manage payroll, leave and employment compliances in line with current Fair Work legislation, including recruitment, retention and exit scenarios.
3. Oversee financial transactions, banking and records in collaboration with the Operations Manager, Accountant, Financial Director and Executive Team.
4. Undertake the coordination and delivery of Board Meetings including contacting Directors, managing logistics and catering, managing records and meeting compliances over payments and registration.
5. Navigate and keep up to date with complex employment laws, including enterprise agreement, wage and hour laws, anti-discrimination laws, and workplace safety regulation.
6. Invest in employee training and development programs essential for upskilling employees, improving their performance, and enhancing their career prospects.
7. Inform on conflict resolution strategies and legal policies to address workplace disputes while assisting in maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
8. Oversee and implement HR policies including HR audits and provide timely advice to the CEO Principal.


Selection Criteria


Essential

* Proven experience and abilities in HR management, financial management, data systems management and workplace legislation.
* Proven ability to work responsively and respectfully in a cross-cultural environment.
* Good oral and written communication skills showing ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.
* Demonstrated computer literacy skills, including the effective use of various office applications such as databases and spreadsheets.
* Demonstrated ability to create and maintain computer and hardcopy files and filing systems and understanding of confidentiality.
* Ability to monitor own performance and tasks against expected outcomes, deadlines, whilst in a busy work environment.
* Demonstrated experience in using databases.


Desirable

* Post graduate qualifications in HR or at least 5 years as a HR Manager.
* Current First Aid Certificate.
* Bookkeeping experience.


Further information

The successful applicant must have no significant criminal record confirmed by a Police Criminal History check and have, or be in the process of obtaining, a current Working with Children Card and current First Aid Certificate. You may be subject to a medical clearance. Holding a current driver's licence is desirable.


Salary Range

$125,256 – $139,296 plus 12% Superannuation remote living allowances
