Stepping Stones in Life Therapy Service – Darwin NT

We are currently seeking an Allied Health Assistant (Level 2) to join our growing Multidisciplinary allied health team in Darwin. Stepping Stones in Life Therapy Service is a small allied health team consisting of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Clinical Social Workers, Art Therapists, and Behaviour Support Practitioners.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates motivation, leadership and communication skills to support our multidisciplinary team in delivering services across the Northern Territory.

As a Therapy Assistant you will deliver therapy programs to our clients under the instruction and guidance of our qualified Allied Health Professionals. Therapy programs will include individual and group therapy programmes in an individual and family‑centred model of practice.

Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year experience working as an Allied Health Assistant.

Qualifications

- Confident, calm and friendly
- Experience delivering Speech/OT programs under supervision of a clinician
- Proficient in Microsoft software (Word, Publisher, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Boardmaker
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Skilled at multitasking and taking initiative
- Capable of working autonomously and as part of a team
- A high level of energy & enthusiasm toward the work you do

Responsibilities

- Greeting clients in a skilled and courteous manner
- Creating resources
- Delivering group programmes
- Entering data with high accuracy
- Managing multiple tasks
- Assisting all clinicians in sessions in the clinic and in communities
- Assisting in allied health sessions as required
- Equipment maintenance and dis‑infection
- Setting up and packing away of sessions
- Administrative tasks (data entry, client calendar creation, scanning, typing notes from verbal dictation, stocktaking)

The Role

Full time

Required before onboarding

- OCHRE card
- Vaccinations - all must be up to date
- Current National Police check (within last 3 months)
