Key EL2 Actuary Role
Job Description
The position of an EL2 Actuary is a critical leadership role within the organization, requiring delegated authority and responsibility to resolve complex issues and risks. The successful candidate will provide high-level advice to senior management and the Executive Leadership Team.
The EL2 Actuary will exercise significant independence, using high-level decision-making and judgment skills to coordinate and assume responsibility for highly complex projects and work program outcomes.
The role involves applying actuarial and insurance-based techniques to project scheme costs, satisfying ad-hoc requests for modeling and interpretation of NDIS legislation, developing and updating the NDIS actuarial valuation model, and providing statistical and actuarial advice to stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess relevant academic qualifications in Actuarial Studies or Mathematics/Statistics, with significant progress towards Fellowship qualifications. A minimum of 10-15 years' experience in a similar role is required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Applying actuarial and insurance-based techniques to project scheme costs.
* Satisfying ad-hoc requests for modeling and interpretation of NDIS legislation.
* Developing and updating the NDIS actuarial valuation model.
* Providing statistical and actuarial advice to stakeholders.
* Performing reporting, analysis, and data management activities as required.
Essential Criteria:
* Relevant academic qualifications in Actuarial Studies or Mathematics/Statistics.
* A minimum of 10-15 years' experience in a similar role.
