About the role
As the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees across our operations across VIC & SA. This full‐time position will see you work closely with our supply chain and operations team as well as the leadership team to establish and maintain health and safety practices, with a focus on driving a positive safety culture.
What you'll be doing
* Provide strategic direction to the organisation on Safety, Wellbeing, Compliance and Environmental policies and frameworks.
* Develop and nurture an ownership culture of Health and Safety throughout the organisation.
* Manage and conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations, support operational teams, and strengthen existing safety systems.
* Develop practical systems and processes that enhance safety performance, strengthen the organisation's safety culture, and reduce the likelihood of non‐compliance.
* Coach, train and develop the broader team to own their own environmental, safety and compliance processes, including Chain of Responsibility (COR), safe work instructions, hazard identification, etc.
* Facilitate maintenance and management of environmental health, safety and well‐being through systems, audit/inspection and the establishment of high standards and expectations on employees of service excellence while driving safety awareness behaviours/performance.
* Measure overall performance around Health & Safety and identify any areas of weakness, recommending and implementing improvements.
* Ensure programmes are in place to meet all relevant legislative and compliance obligations.
* Establish and report on key compliance KPIs, including Hazard reporting, incidents and compliance targets.
* Provide expert advice and research on all aspects of, compliance, wellbeing and safety.
* Conduct regular visits to all sites across Natrio and Axima.
What we're looking for
* Demonstrated experience in a senior H&S position. Experience operating with senior stakeholders across a complex, multi-layered organisational structures with confidence, autonomy and discretion.
* Able to influence at all organisational levels - from the frontline to executives
* Strong organisational and time‐management skills
* Demonstrable experience with Selection, Implementation, Management and Continuous Maintenance of the H&S Management System.
* Ability to set safety strategy aligned with organisational goals
* Strong risk‐based thinking and prioritisation
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders without ongoing supervision
* Negotiating and resolving conflicts constructively
* Encouraging safe behaviours and leading by example
* Driving continuous improvement and a positive safety culture
* Developing, implementing, and maintaining SMS frameworks
* Expert competence in hazard identification and risk assessment
* Leading investigations for serious or high‐potential incidents
