The opportunity:
Due to growth and the desire to continuously improve, our Supply Chain team at HCL are on the lookout for a leader with an ability to motivate, inspire and bring people together to achieve common goal.
As the Work Health & Safety (WHS) and Facilities Manager you will report to the management team and be responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive WHS processes across all sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting a culture of safety and sustainability.
You will also oversee facilities maintenance, manage agreements, conduct audits, and lead ESG reporting initiatives. Facilities cost base and repairs and maintenance budgets, and ESG improvement initiatives are also included.
To be successful in this role you will be technically competent in continuous improvement and logistics and understand transport and related industry dynamics. You will possess strong commercial acumen, understanding costs and optimising operations, whilst being a proven leader in environmental health and safety standard setting.
What you will do:
* Identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement initiatives to ensure optimum operational performance and improved efficiency;
* Develop and implement WHS plans and risk assessments that cover all aspects of the warehouse operations to improve safety;
* Manage operations activities in preparation for compliance audits and support internal audit plan implementation;
* Develop and maintain control systems to ensure WHS, ESG performance is measured achieved and improved over time;
* Ensure WHS management processes are implemented across all sites;
* Demonstrate active and visible leadership through effective consultation and communication to achieve WHS objectives and targets;
* Provide governance to achieve objectives for monitoring and reporting processes;
* Timely reporting of injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards, ensuring that appropriate investigations and conclusions are conducted;
* Manage staff performance including completion of annual reviews;
* Quality and issue escalation;
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GMP and GWP standards;
* and ISO 9001 and of Quality Management documents relevant to the warehouse, ensuring compliance.
What we are looking for:
* Minimum 5 years' experience working with a similar WHS role;
* Tertiary qualified within WHS, Operations, business management, Engineering or supply chain related field coupled with experience managing a 3PL relationship;
* Knowledge of materials handling solutions and the supply chain process;
* Commitment to safety and ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities;
* Strong leadership, conflict resolution and negotiation skills;
* Ability to complete work within established time frames and specifications;
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical, operational, and quality problems and related issues;
* Ability to build relationships with internal and external business stakeholders at all levels to achieve favourable outcomes.
* Results driven, possess initiative with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
