Job Description

We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role to join the Silverchain team in the Newcastle area.

- Are comfortable working independently, solving everyday problems, and know when to ask your manager for help.
In addition, you will need an open‑class Australian Driver’s Licence and your own insured, road‑worthy vehicle. You must have 3 months or more in a similar qualified role, with experience in aged care.
Responsibilities
- General housekeeping and making beds.
- Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
- Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
- Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
- Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
- Assisting clients to take their medications.
- Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
- Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
- Providing social and emotional support.
- Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
- Helping the family carer to have a break or other opportunities.
