In this role, you will be assisting the Senior Financial Accountant maintain the integrity of financial information contained within RACQ Insurance’s general ledger, financial reporting, and performing insurance accounting and general reconciliation activities. This is achieved through business partnering and collaboration, financial control activities, ensuring financial transactions comply with Australian Accounting Standards and that all associated activities and processes are planned, timely and accurate.Key Responsibilities:Preparation, analysis, investigation and reporting of regular general ledger reconciliations and financial control activities.Monthly accruals and prepayments up to trial balance stage.Assist in the preparation of the monthly reporting for profit & loss and balance sheet.Review, document and explain variances by completing accurate monthly commentary.Contribute to the preparation of the annual financial statements.Complete all daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities in accordance with required schedules and deadlines.Contribute to the preparation of high-quality financial policies and procedures.Prepare and input journals.Support member experience through business partnering and collaboration and accurately completing Insurance Finance activities and processes.Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across RACQ through the provision of high-quality accounting service and advice.About you:Graduate degree in relevant accounting or finance area1-3 years relevant experienceKnowledge of accounting standardsAbility to compare information quickly and accurately to ensure quality of workAbility to read, analyse and communicate written and verbal informationAbility to solve problems, perform numerical calculations and interpret data in different situationsProficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Excel.Ability to work to schedule and time management skillsWhy join RACQ?It is an exciting time to be part of RACQ as we continue our transformation towards better, smarter solutions that deliver more security and prosperity for Queenslanders.
