Assist with the communicative needs of Deaf or hard of hearing (HoH) students using Australian Sign Language (Auslan) according to the specific needs of the student, including support to the student’s program through the preparation of teacher-designed materials.
This department is dedicated to children, young people, and their communities, aiming to ensure every child and young person in Tasmania is known, safe, well, and learning.
Duties
Assist with the communicative needs of Deaf or hard of hearing (HoH) students using Australian Sign Language (Auslan), tailored to each student's needs, including supporting the student’s program via teacher-designed materials.
Period of Appointment
ASAP for 12 months. Applicants should note that this selection process may be used to fill subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies within twelve (12) months from the date of publication, in accordance with Employment Direction 1.
Hours per fortnight
Up to 73.5 hours per fortnight, 40 weeks per year
* Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
* Certificate II in Auslan
* Certificate III in Education Support
