Role Overview
As the Trainer Assessor (T/A) for Austal Defence Australia (ADA) you'll be responsible for supporting a ship specific Operating Support and Training (OS&T) Team by developing and delivering Mission System procedures and training during a shipbuilding program. The role helps prepare subcontractor and customer crews to operate and maintain their systems through transfer into service, while supporting task analysis, mentoring junior staff, and working within the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) framework.
What's Involved
* Ensure subcontractor and Customer Mission System crews are fully prepared to operate and maintain the Mission System through its transition to customer custody.
* Provide operational leadership, including supervision and mentoring of junior Technical Advisors and mariner trainees.
* Contribute to the development and integration of Mission System. operating procedures, training curriculum, and associated technical data.
* Support the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Program by collaborating closely with other ILS disciplines.
* Report to the OS&T Lead and maintain strong coordination across the broader support team.
You'll Need
* TAE 40116 or 40122 CERT IV in Training and Assessment (equivalent or higher).
* Minimum 3 years' experience in defence maritime operations or technical training (or similar). Experience in drafting procedures and developing training content.
* Experience in shipbuilding or maritime defence projects.
* Certification in Instructional Systems Design or Simulation-Based Training.
* Experience with participation in design reviews.
* Experience in Training Regulatory compliance management (desirable).
* Development of Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (IETP) (desirable).
* Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) (desirable).
