We are now seeking a Manager Commercial to oversee the commercial, administration, supply and business improvement function at the operation. In addition, you will be responsible for supporting the leadership team by coordinating reliable physicals and financial forecasting, reporting, advising in contract management and role modelling financial discipline across both operating and capital expenditure.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will work 4 days on, 3 days off roster with time in the corporate office when required.

The Opportunity:

* Commercial and Site Administration:
o Development and maintenance of commercial systems and procedures that meet the needs of the longer-term operation.
o Management of the site-based Administration, IT, Business Improvement and Supply / Purchasing teams.
o Oversee administration of the site camp and flights contracts and ensure reliable performance of the business partners.
o Actively participate in commercial, contract and tender discussions and negotiations in conjunction with the Contracts team.
o Assist contract managers to ensure that agreed outcomes are achieved.
o Ensure compliance with financial, legal and statutory obligations and corporation's law.
o Review and provide Commercial advice with regards to contractual entitlements and requirements.
* Business Improvement
o Provide leadership to the business improvement function
o Drive the continuous improvement program onsite, and ensure a disciplined approach to embedment within the value chain
* Produce site financial reports and analysis:
o Facilitate and assist in the preparation of the operating budgets, life of mine, and regular forecasting updates.
o Maintain compliance to the operating and capital cost and accounting structures.
o Co-ordinate between the site team and senior management accountant and financial controller for the timely completion of monthly financial reporting process, including physicals compilation, financial analysis and commentary.
o Undertake ad hoc business improvement finance related projects as required.
* Support the Site Leadership team and role model financial thinking:
o Foster an environment which supports cost management and business improvement.
o Oversee and mentor the purchase to pay expenditure system.
o Advise and assist operations personnel with the preparation of capital expenditure applications and cost allocations.
o Develop reporting packages and systems to track site operating performance.
o Monitor and ensure compliance to contracts for goods and services, e.g. communications, catering, transport.

We're excited to hear from you if you have:

* Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance or equivalent
* Minimum 10+ years of accounting/finance background, with 5+ years' experience within an operating mining environment is essential.
* Track record in leadership roles delivering sound financial performance.
* High level of organisational and communicational skills.
* An advanced user of Microsoft Excel for financial modelling.
