As an experienced gardener you know the tasks and skills you need to complete the day-to-day work so I won't labour that point (you can skip to the bottom of this page for all the usual job ad stuff). In plain English, we are looking for someone to join our team who has the following sort of experience:
- You have hands on experience as a gardener and have decided you want to move your career forward by starting to learn the business side of the industry without having to sit in an office all day.
- Alternatively, you are an experienced gardener/horticulturalist currently working in the industry, or you have your own business and feel you are doing everything except gardening and just want to leave that noise behind.
- Or, you may not currently be working in the industry but have previous experience as a gardener or horticulturalist and you are looking to get back into the industry.
The team you would be joining is extremely stable and we get along well (staff parties are actually fun), we work hard, genuinely care about our customers, produce high-quality work, and expect those we are working alongside to do the same. I don't mean any of that "we are a family" nonsense, it's just a good place to work, and we are looking for someone who is always willing to learn and can be a positive influence in the team.
Our office team handle quoting, rostering, client communications, and pretty much anything else that isn't gardening so unless you want to learn the business side of the industry you can just focus on the work. We are very supportive of anyone wanting to learn and increase their skills and we always look to promote from within.
Role requirements:
- Class C Driver's License (manual preferred)
- Must pass a Criminal History Check
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a Blue Card
- Must hold or be willing to obtain First Aid qualifications
- Must hold or be willing to obtain Chain Saw Accreditation
- Must hold or be willing to obtain ACDC licence
- Must have the right to work in Australia
General tasks and responsibilities:
- Accurately track job completion and timings (via app)
- Communicating with the office to ensure that client/job updates are provided and flagging any matters that need attention.
- Ensuring work meets company standards and assessing garden requirements for ongoing maintenance and enhancements.
- Provide a friendly point of contact for clients when onsite, answering queries and referring enquiries/requests to the office as appropriate.
- An eye for detail, quick to identify potential garden issues, and the ability to adjust job sheets accordingly.
- A general understanding of the tools and machinery used in the course of the business and the ability to identify the pre-safety checks and maintenance required before use
