TL Engineering are experiencing exciting growth and are expanding their team, and are now seeking an HV Team Leader to join our team on a permanent, full time basis, based in Hazelmere.

This is a key senior role, leading talented tradespeople, and developing tomorrow's future apprentices, as well as having the opportunity to influence the shape and direction of the business.

About the role

This role plays a key part in delivering the high standard TL is known for. It's a varied role that will see you leading and inspiring a team to schedule, manage and oversee various projects for our clients.

Direct, coordinate, and supervise the work of team members to ensure efficient and high-quality production

Maintain oversight of team performance and commitment to the ongoing development of team members, identifying and developed talented members within your team

Identify training needs and provide or arrange for appropriate training to enhance team members' skills and knowledge

Develop and manage team schedules, including shift assignments, overtime, and leave requests, to ensure adequate staffing levels

Analyse labour times and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce downtime

Plan and schedule work assignments for team members, ensuring that production goals and deadlines are met

Monitor and manage inventory levels of materials and supplies, ensuring availability for production while minimising waste

Continuously assess and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, quality and safety

In addition, you'll be trusted to:

Work collaboratively with a skilled, experienced team

Contribute ideas, experience, and solutions on the floor

About you

We're looking for someone who cares about their work and wants to be part of a team that does things properly.

The ideal addition to our team will likely:

Trade qualifications or equivalent preferred within the Paint, Fit and Fabrication (Automotive/Industrial) Industry

5 years' experience in team leadership and management

Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in heavy vehicle or vehicle fit out

Hands-on experience with HV equipment, tools, and processes

Experience in planning and executing production schedules, managing budgets, and meeting deadlines

Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to motivate and develop

Collaborative team player focused on working together to produce quality products for the client

Exceptional organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities efficiently

Take pride in quality and attention to detail

Respect your teammates and the work they do

Be open to learning, upskilling, and growing over time

Value clear expectations and consistent standards
