As a Support Worker based at Gympie, you'll play a vital role in helping people with disability live independently and achieve their NDIS goals. You'll provide person-centred support both at home and in the community, empowering individuals to build skills, confidence, and meaningful connections.
Your day may include:
* Supporting daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, and meal preparation.
* Assisting individuals to develop skills in budgeting, social interaction, and self-care.
* Encouraging community engagement through social activities and outings.
* Helping people maintain strong connections with family, friends, and services.
* Providing compassionate and respectful support tailored to each individual's needs.
Shift work is required, including nights, sleepovers, and weekends.
About You
You are a caring, resilient, and motivated individual who is passionate about making a difference. You bring a person-centred approach to your work and thrive on helping others achieve their goals.
You will have:
* Genuine empathy and dedication to supporting people with disability.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Physical capacity to undertake manual handling tasks.
* Commitment to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
* A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) – highly regarded but not essential.
* Experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours – desirable.
* Prior experience supporting individuals with dementia is an asset but not mandatory
