The Mine & Roster In addition to a culture first environment along with job security working for a standout high-grade, high margin growth gold project in Australia: Enjoy a flexible 8/6 roster that supports an outstanding work-life balance The camp is clean and well kept with assigned en-suite rooms On site gym, all weather pitch and breakout area with pool table and darts board FIFO from Perth on chartered flight with short 15 minute bus journey to site from airstrip The Role Manage all geotechnical and (in future) backfill aspects of the mine with a high degree of autonomy Update and maintain the Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP) Update and maintain the Ground Support Standards (GSS) Manage the establishment of the UG seismic system and implementation of all associated processes Assist with ongoing paste backfill study work and help formulate the plan for its implementation on site Conduct geotechnical numerical modelling as required Provide geotechnical input to the mine design and scheduling processes, short-term and long-term resolution Collect geotechnical information through mapping of underground excavations Monitor and assess the performance of ground support designs, and make changes accordingly Monitor and assess ground support installation (QAQC), performance (strain, corrosion) and compliance to design Carry out geotechnical evaluations, risk assessments and make recommendations Develop, update, and maintain and all geotechnical related procedures and standards Report on geotechnical events, investigate occurrences and complete geotechnical reports as required Provide geotechnical support and assistance to the mine through understanding, complying, mentoring, and liaising with business partners to promote full statutory compliance with mining regulations, legislation, and company safety objectives relevant to ground control Communication of all geotechnical aspects of mining to the workforce and management Your Skills and Experience You are required to possess and demonstrate the following: Experience: Tertiary degree in Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent) 6 years of experience in mechanised UG hard rock mining, in a Geotechnical role Demonstrated practical and technical Geotechnical skills Demonstrated ability to use specialised Geotechnical hardware and software, including Map3D, the RocScience suite, as well as specialised seismic packages Deswik proficiency (preferred) Experience in contractor management and cost control Detailed knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 & Work Health and Safety Act 2020 Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills Good interpersonal communication, literacy, numeracy and presentation skills Outstanding analytical skills and high attention to detail Ability to work to deadlines Personality: Strong Communicator Takes initiative, leads by example Supports the development and growth of the team Values input from others, Fosters a team-first culture Creates a supportive, inclusive work environment Comfortable navigating change Composed under pressure, especially on-site or in fast-paced environments Trustworthy within the team by being supportive, open to feedback, and willing to listen Why apply?
