Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative Systems Engineer to join the Queensland Airports Pty Ltd (QAL) Technology team. Reporting directly to the Technology Operations Manager, the Systems Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining QAL's server infrastructure, virtualization technologies, backup solutions, and cloud-based services. The Systems Engineer will also be designing systems, configurations, documenting and server installations, as well as maintaining and upgrading existing systems as required. Collaboration with cross‐functional teams to implement and support IT initiatives aligned with business objectives will be an integral part of the role.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Information Technology or a related field and have 3‐5 years of experience in a similar Systems Engineer role. They will bring strong expertise in server infrastructure, including virtualisation (VMware), Veeam Backup, Windows Server and Failover Clustering, Kubernetes, and Linux. An expert in administering Office 365 services along with excellent troubleshooting, communication, and time management skills. The successful applicant will be customer‐focused, proactive in resolving issues, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Relevant certifications are advantageous.
Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain QAL's server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security
* Manage VMware virtualization infrastructure, including vSphere and vCenter
* Implement and manage Veeam backup and replication solutions
* Collaborate with support teams and vendors to resolve complex technical issues
* Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of system upgrades and enhancements
* Office 365 Management including Azure, Intune, Exchange, SharePoint
* SCCM SOE Image management and updates
* Note: This role may require on‐call work

The successful candidate will be required to adhere to QAL's Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP), which includes pre‐employment Drug and Alcohol Testing, and have the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), which requires the completion of a Police Check.
