Liwara Catholic Primary School is a double stream school in Greenwood. The school caters for 470 students in a co-educational setting from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. Liwara Catholic Primary School staff are committed to providing a child-focused, holistic Catholic education. A school based Out of School Hours Care service and Instrumental Tuition is also available to our families.
This position is primarily responsible for the financial processing, financial administration and management of the school. The role will provide information to support decision making by the Principal to ensure ongoing financial viability of the school.
The school is seeking an experienced finance officer who has previous experience in a similar role. Knowledge and a working understanding of the AOS financial system and appropriate financial qualifications or significant school experience are deemed as a highly desirable requirement for the successful candidate.
This position is full-time (48 Weeks per year, 8am to 4pm). There is scope for a variation to this through mutual negotiation with the successful candidate.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
• A strong commitment to Catholic Education and willingness to promote and support Catholic values.
• Extensive experience in bookkeeping.
• Experience in financial procedures including accounts receivable, accounts payable, preparation of Business Activity Statements, and general ledger processing.
• Sound knowledge and demonstrated ability of relevant accrual accounting practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Advanced computer skills and knowledge including experience in financial programs, Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet Applications.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
• Child Protection Procedure Mandatory Reporting Training will need to be completed within two weeks of commencement of employment.
• Have or willingness to attain Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• A relevant qualification in Accounting, Business or a related field would be an advantage, but is not essential.
• Previous experience in Finance or Administration within CEWA schools would be advantageous.
• Extensive experience with financial or bookkeeping functions.
• Experience in a school environment would be an advantage.
