Soft FM SME & Support Manager

Lead a Landmark $900M Greenfield PPP: Drive the initial mobilisation and long-term service design for the New Melton Hospital from the ground up, supporting a critical, fast-growing corridor of Melbourne.
THE POSITION
- Lead the detailed design, development, and integration of front-line Service Delivery Models spanning Cleaning, Waste Management, Patient Support Assistants (PSAs), Portering, Materials Distribution, Grounds & Gardens, and Car Parking.
- Support the Mobilisation Manager in building complex operational scenarios, business continuity plans, risk mitigation strategies, and localized policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in working groups, review building designs, and contribute to the ongoing development and execution of master project GANTT charts.
- Attend and lead Services User Groups, collaborate closely with consortium partners, and draw on internal Compass Group infrastructure (Safety, Recruitment, ER, Commercial, IT) to build robust operational frameworks.
- Support frontline recruitment and selection processes while championing contractually mandated Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) targets.
- Develop high-efficiency rosters and schedules aligned with strict service delivery requirements, industrial relations (IR) frameworks, and enterprise agreements.
- Function as a visible champion of our workplace safety culture by deeply embedding and role‐modeling the unit management behaviors outlined in the Compass Group Our Safety Culture Framework.
- Manage performance-based commercial deliverables with a strong focus on contract compliance, risk reduction, and the proactive management of abatements.
- Maintain highly collaborative, trusted relationships across a complex matrix, including Western Health key stakeholders, Project Co, and the Hospital Sector Leadership team.
- Review and accurately price service modifications to assess their commercial and operational impacts on Compass Group delivery.
THE PERSON
- Proven management experience within a complex hospital environment, with a track record of leading, inspiring, and scaling large operational teams (up to 175 staff).
- Demonstrated success building high-performing support teams that integrate seamlessly and empathetically with frontline clinical services.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing complex, performance-based contracts and overseeing sub-contracted services.
- A solid understanding of the unique commercial drivers, governance, and relationship dynamics inherent to a Public-Private Partnership framework.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to navigate, consult, and influence across multiple tiers of government, consortium partners, and clients.
- Tertiary qualifications in Healthcare Management, Business, or a related discipline.
- Formal project management experience driving large-scale mobilisations or transition phases.
- Experience embedding a "One Team" culture aligned with patient‐centered care values.
