About The Role
Position Overview
Canberra Health Services Dental (CHS Dental) Within The Division Of Rehabilitation, Aged And Community Services (RACS) Provides Adult, Child And Youth General Dental, Restorative, Additional Needs, General Anaesthetic (GA), Relative Analgesia (RA), And Specialist Surgical And Orthodontic Services To The Eligible Members Of The ACT Community. The Service Currently Operates From Five Community Health Centres And Three Hospitals Across The ACT Region, As Well As Operating Within ACT Corrective Services And From Mobile Dental Clinics As Below
l Gungahlin Community Health Centre – Six dental chairs
l Belconnen Community Health Centre – Eleven dental chairs
l City Community Health Centre - Ten dental chairs
l Phillip Community Health Centre - Ten dental chairs; and
l Tuggeranong Community Health Centre - Five chairs.
l Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC)
l The Canberra Hospital (GA)
l North Canberra Hospital (GA)
l Calvary John James Hospital (GA)
l Nursing home mobile dental clinic
l School mobile dental clinic
l Targeted Access Program mobile dental clinic
CHS Dental is a multidisciplinary program and consists of dentists, visiting oral surgeons, oral health therapists, dental therapists, prosthetists, visiting orthodontist, dental assistants, laboratory technicians and administrative staff. CHS Dental offers a range of dental services to the eligible members of the community for adult & child and youth dental services, this includes denture services and emergency dental.
The services are available Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 5:00pm at the above listed facilities and Community Health Centre’s.
Part time positions with a minimum roster of 3 business days per week are available.

Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:
l Hold Dentist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
l Meet credentialing requirements and receive an Endorsed scope of clinical practice from the Medical Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC)
l Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
l Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
