About the role
We're looking for a highly skilled Access Coordinator (HV Switching Operator) to manage network access, outages, and paperwork for safe, effective field operations in Victoria's Northwest working out of our Bendigo depot.
In this crucial position, you will be required to effectively manage network access and outages through preparation of appropriate paperwork to the network authority in order to enable safe and effective field workforce.
Key Responsibilities include
* Prepare and manage network outage applications, including work clearance applications, switching instructions, system outage requests, and vicinity access applications
* Effectively operate on transmission &/ sub-transmission apparatus
* Identify areas for continuous improvement, helping us provide more cost-effective solutions and higher-quality outcomes for both internal and external clients
* Ensure the implementation of the agreed quality control measures and provide high level advice and support to team members in undertaking tasks and implementing plans as required
* Visit sites as required to assess safest and most efficient delivery methodology, identifying potential risks and preparing effective mitigation strategies
* Manage customer expectations while balancing the needs of the business and maintaining excellent communication
About You
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working as High Voltage Switching Operator, and a solid understanding of construction, maintenance, planning/scheduling work, operational techniques and standards as applied to electrical networks, as well as hands-on experience in preparing and lodging switching instructions.
You bring a proactive, safety-first mindset to everything you do, and you're just as comfortable working independently as you are collaborating with a team. You take pride in keeping things running smoothly, improving processes, and delivering excellent service to both internal teams and external customers.
* Trade qualification (Cert III in Power or Electrotechnology)
* Valid Australian driver's licence
* VESI accreditation and current ESI Worker card
* In-depth knowledge of Victorian Electrical Distribution, Transmission and Sub Transmission Networks
* Confident using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
* Ability to provide support and work outside regular hours when required
