Terminal Operations Manager
Lead the safe and efficient operation of a hazardous facility, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Develop and implement effective processes, systems, procedures, and training to support continuity and efficiency in operations and sales activities.
* Manage daily and weekly production requirements, meeting customer forecasting and orders.
* Supervise joint ventures for storage and handling of imported bitumen, monitoring stock measurement and supply situations.
* Implement cost-saving initiatives and share knowledge with other operations teams.
Ensure strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Supply, and Customer Service teams, as well as external partners and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
* Monitor and control operating costs, identifying areas for improvement.
* Implement technical support and diagnosis of system faults, minimizing downtime.
Work Health & Safety
* Comply with all statutory requirements, maintaining a SAPS rating of Level 3.
* Proactively manage health, safety, and environment issues, using the Sphera system for reporting and tracking.
Maintenance Management
* Establish and monitor an effective maintenance work management process.
* Ensure Puma's CMMS is accurate and utilized effectively, managing contractors to site requirements.
Capital Projects Management
* Support National Operations Management with feasibility, engineering, procurement, and construction phases of externally managed projects.
* Manage the delivery of projects through feasibility, engineering, procurement, and construction phases for site-managed projects.
Financial Management
* Prepare capital and fixed-cost budgets, monitoring operations to ensure costs and expenditures are minimized and remain within budget.
Leadership and Team Development
* Provide leadership to direct reports and the broader team, promoting an operational culture that drives efficient and cost-effective operations and maintenance.
