Your new role
As an APS5 Risk Manager, you will evaluate applications for the registration of agricultural products, applying regulatory risk assessment principles to ensure compliance with legislation and policy frameworks. You will consider scientific advice, assess safety, efficacy, and trade impacts, and make recommendations to decision-makers. The role involves preparing reports and correspondence, managing workflows to meet legislated timeframes, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues effectively. This is a 6-month hourly rate contract with a possibility of extension.
What you'll need to succeed
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant scientific discipline such as biology, agricultural or horticultural science, entomology, weed science, pharmacology, toxicology, or physiology.
* Knowledge of, or ability to quickly gain knowledge of, regulatory environments and legislation.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide pragmatic advice on complex scientific matters.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
* Ability to prioritise workloads, work independently, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
