Team
The North West diabetes Centre provides specialist clinical care and consultation to people living with diabetes across the lifespan, including paediatric, adolescent and adult populations. Education, training and clinical advice are also provided to families, carers and other health professionals involved in the care of people with diabetes.
Services Provided
* Type 1 diabetes
* High‐risk and complex Type 2 diabetes
* Dietitian clinic
* Gestational Diabetes Mellitus
* Pregnancy and pre‐pregnancy counselling for women with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
Care Delivery
* Outpatient specialist clinics, including nurse‐led, doctor‐led and multidisciplinary clinics (via clinician referral or self‐referral for nurse‐led services)
* Inpatient consultation services (via referral)
* Secondary consultation and education, providing support and training to other clinicians, including nurses and doctors
* Group education and training programs delivered across the North West Region
Role
This role provides a specialist nutrition and dietetic service within the North West Regional Hospital Diabetes Centre and across the North West region.
* Providing expert, evidence‐based medical nutrition therapy for people living with diabetes
* Demonstrating clinical leadership and maintaining advanced specialist knowledge to ensure services align with organisational policies, best practice standards and the Dietitians Australia code of conduct
* Coordinating and developing innovative nutrition and dietetic services within the Diabetes Centre, with a focus on improving outcomes for people with diabetes across the region
Qualifications
* Hold, or be working towards, Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) status (or be willing to work towards accreditation)
* Demonstrate experience working with people living with diabetes, including complex and high‐risk presentations
* Be willing to work across multiple sites within the North West Tasmania
Appointment Details
Permanent, part‐time, day worker position, working 60 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date. Hours are to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary
$123,717 to $134,336 per annum (pro rata). Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility
