Ignite has partnered with a leading engineering organisation to appoint a Mechanical Maintenance Technician. The role involves safely and efficiently carrying out planned, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance across fixed plant and heavy industrial environments, both in the workshop and on-site. This role supports asset availability and operational continuity through hands‐on mechanical maintenance and fault finding.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform planned, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant and industrial equipment
* Prepare and service equipment in the workshop and travel to customer sites as required.
* Maintain and repair pumps (centrifugal & screw), blowers, fans, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Conduct shaft bearing removal/installation and precision alignment of motors, couplings, and shafts.
* Diagnose faults, inspect equipment, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
* Perform PSV inspection, removal, installation, and testing
* Execute valve, operator, and pressure equipment overhauls and diagnostics
Requirements
* Advanced mechanical maintenance and fault-finding capability
* Strong knowledge of fixed plant assets in heavy industry environments
* Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
* Proficient in CMMS systems and maintenance documentationSafety-focused with strong risk awareness
