The National Police Checking Service (NPCS) within the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) maintains a register of people interested in casual employment opportunities. The register enables the NPCS to meet business needs during peak periods or when temporary support is required.
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to manage secondary clearance activities within the NPCS, and assist with the processing of criminal history checks by resolving the identity of the persons of interest who have matched against national police records in National Policing Information Systems.
Successful candidates will be engaged on a casual/intermittent basis and paid an hourly rate equivalent to an APS Level 3 (plus loading and superannuation).
Working within a dynamic team environment, individuals will be required to have a high level of attention to detail, good communication and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines and key performance indicators (KPIs). Successful candidates must have the ability to use strategic and analytical thinking to make match decisions and will be required to perform tasks autonomously with minimal supervision. They will be required to have sound computer literacy skills, and the ability to work across multiple IT platforms including the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
The key duties of the position include
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of allocated workload;
- Contribute to team dynamics by providing advice and input to decision making;
- Contribute to research and analysis activities;
- Escalate complex enquiries to the team supervisor as needed;
- Provides administrative support for team leaders and senior management.

- These positions offer between 12-20 hours per week during weekday business hours in a shift workplace with some occasional weekend shifts.
