* Full time (100%), fixed-term position until 31 December 2026
* Base salary will be in the range $93k - $100k + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6)
* Based at our St Lucia Campus

About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised research coordinator with strong project management experience to oversee a research study involving children in sport. Reporting to the Chief Investigator, this position is responsible for assisting with research-related activities; administrative, operational and logistical support for the study, including coordination of data collection, database usage/support and project reporting. You will develop and maintain close working relationships and timely engagement with multi-disciplinary teams and key internal and external stakeholders and adhere to human ethics requirements and governance processes.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

* Develop, prepare, coordinate, and maintain all regulatory submissions for the research trial, relevant national ethics regulations, and research governance submission requirements across multiple institutions where relevant
* Recruit and manage research volunteers to facilitate participation in studies, including appropriate work scheduling
* Establish collaborations with key stakeholders and participate in regular meetings to ensure effective and timely delivery of research outcomes as well as provide monthly progress reports / study updates to the Chief Investigator and key stakeholders
* Negotiate with study providers - radiology, pathology - for cost‐effective services
* Liaise with radiology providers for quality control of MRI data, and ensure adequate transfer and storage of MRI data
* Apply appropriate methods of collection, processing and storage of collected blood samples and ensure these are adhered to
* Develop strategies to encourage follow‐through of study participants ensuring maximum numbers of completed participants
* Monitor and report on any issues related to implementation of the research program, ethical considerations, progress of data collection, compliance of research participants and any implications for changes in best practice
* Other duties as directed by your supervisor

About You

* Completion of an undergraduate degree with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate research projects and manage workflows, including staff scheduling and stakeholder engagement.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities and timelines.
* Experience supporting research operations, including data capture, ethics and governance processes, and maintaining accurate records.
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise workload, exercise initiative and meet deadlines.
* Experience developing and implementing research procedures, workflows and standard operating procedures.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EndNote) or the ability to quickly acquire these skills.
* Willingness to work flexible hours as required to support study activities.

Desirable

* Knowledge of research ethics and governance processes within a higher education environment.
* Experience analysing and reporting research data.
* Experience working with biospecimens (e.g. blood or saliva) and/or MRI data in a multidisciplinary research setting.

Appointment to this role

Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of the right to work in Australia, qualifications, criminal history check and other role-specific requirements such as mandatory immunisations and Blue Card checks. This may also include checks relating to gender-based violence matters or other integrity and conduct requirements.
