Job Title
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef/Cook to join our kitchen team.
* This is a casual position available for someone with a passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* To prepare, cook and present meals in a timely and professional manner.
* To monitor plate presentation and portion sizes to ensure quality and consistency.
* To order food and stock the kitchen, ensuring inventory of perishables and supplies are at minimum levels, but sufficient to meet forecasted business levels.
* To maintain prep levels to appropriate levels for service.
* To monitor wastage while maintaining the highest quality standards.
* To set up and pack down of the kitchen, ensuring the highest quality of hygiene standards.
* To comply with work safe and work place health and safety procedures.
* To communicate with all colleagues and suppliers in a respectful, timely and respectful manner.
Requirements
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a comparable business in a busy kitchen.
* The ability to work in Australia without any restrictions.
* A willingness to work on weekdays, weekends and some public holidays.
* Certification in food safety and handling, as required under the QLD Food Safety Supervisor guidelines or attain certification within 30 days of employment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
* A positive can-do attitude while working in a high-pressure environment.
* A high standard of personal presentation, moral and ethical standards, encouraging the same of others.

Typical salaries for chefs in the Gold Coast area range from $45,000 to $65,000 per year.
