About the role
The Strategy and Performance Division works across the Department for Education to facilitate best practice strategy and policy development and coordinate a strategic approach to stakeholder engagement. The division comprises the following directorates and business units:
* Strategic Policy
* National Relations and Policy
* External Relations
* Communications
* International Education Services
* Assessments and Collections
* Strategic Data Initiatives
* Data Operations and Service
* Data Insights
The Strategic Policy Directorate develops and coordinates whole-of-agency positions and policies on state and national matters, ensuring consistency across the Department for Education and effective prioritisation of key initiatives. The team leads the development and implementation of strategic policy models and processes and leads the Department's involvement in international relations.
The Policy and Project Officer is responsible for providing support to a strategic policy, research and advisory service team. The incumbent will provide professional and efficient secretariat, policy, project and stakeholder support in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
Essential: Nil
Desirable: Relevant qualification in policy, project, government or business management.
Special conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
ASO3 $67,589 - $72,033 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading
