We are currently seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to support a participant with complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours.
About the Role
This is a high-responsibility support role requiring strong communication skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
The participant requires clear, confident verbal communication, consistency in approach, and strict adherence to Behaviour Support Plans.
IMMEDIATE START REQUIRED
This role offers long working hours, consistent ongoing shifts, and regular sleepover opportunities for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct, person-centred support to a participant with complex mental health needs
* Manage challenging and high-risk behaviours safely and professionally
* Communicate clearly, calmly, and confidently at all times
* Follow Behaviour Support Plans and risk management strategies precisely
* Support daily living tasks and encourage independence
* Accurately document shift notes, incidents, and observations
* Work collaboratively to ensure consistent and structured care
Essential Requirements
* Excellent spoken and written English communication skills (essential)
* Ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and assertively in high-stress situations
* Minimum 2+ years' experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours
* Strong emotional regulation, resilience, and professional boundaries
* Ability to understand and respond to nuanced verbal communication
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
* National Police Check
* First Aid & CPR
* Relevant qualifications in mental health or disability support (desirable)
Availability & Commitment (IMPORTANT)
* IMMEDIATE START required
* Availability for long shifts and extended working hours
* Willingness to work ongoing, consistent, and permanent-style rosters
* Sleepover shifts are available and required
* Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and nights
