About The Role
We are seeking a motivated, community‐minded Hub Coordinator to support the day to day operation and activation of our Community Hub at Kanwal Community Centre.
In this role, you will ensure the Hub is a welcoming, safe and well‐functioning space where individuals and families can connect, participate, and access support. You will play a key role in identifying emerging community needs, strengthening referral pathways, facilitating workshops and activities, and working alongside local partners to increase social participation and connection within the community. You will contribute to the planning and delivery of community‐based programs, events and activities that respond to local needs and support positive outcomes for individuals, families and the wider community.
Key duties
* Open and close the Community Hub, including the use of locks and alarms, monitoring safety systems, and responding to safety concerns as they arise.
* Ensure the Hub operates as a welcoming, inclusive and culturally safe space for community members, partners and visitors.
* Facilitate and support workshops, groups and activities that promote connection, learning and social participation within the community.
* Build and maintain strong referral pathways into local services and supports, assisting community members to connect with appropriate services based on their needs.
* Identify unaddressed or emerging community needs and work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to develop responsive activities or initiatives.
* Initiate, organise and deliver community events and programs, aligned with organisational priorities and relevant reforms, to engage a diverse range of community members.
* Collaborate with community partners who deliver services from the Hub, supporting coordination, communication and shared outcomes where appropriate.
* Provide administrative support including daily data collection, monitoring IT equipment, scheduling activities, setting dates, taking meeting minutes, and meeting reporting deadlines.
* Stock, rotate and store food supplies in line with safety and hygiene requirements.
* Undertake general cleaning and set up tasks, including preparing spaces for food services, workshops, events and activities.

Skills And Experience
As an experienced Youth Worker, Community Development Worker or Case Worker, you will have:
* Experience running a Community Centre/Hub or in Community Development.
* Relevant qualifications.
* The capacity to build productive networks and connections in a community setting.
* Community engagement experience; identifying service gaps and creating effective solutions.
* Ability to lead a team of volunteers, manage challenging situations with clients.
* A collaborative approach with the ability to work autonomously.
* Ability to carry and move loads of at least 10kg.
* Experience using software to enter data in a time sensitive manner.
* A current driver's license.
