Our work is grounded in ACCIONA's global commitment to sustainability, innovation, and social progress.**Position**The National Construction Manager – Substations is responsible for the effective coordination and control of all construction activities related to high-voltage Substation projects or the like including electrical balance of plant. This includes oversight of engineering, procurement, scheduling, quality, safety, and environmental compliance. The role ensures the successful delivery of projects from mobilisation through to commissioning, meeting client expectations and company objectives in safety, quality, time, and profitability.**Key Responsibilities*** Provide construction methodology input and buildability advice during the tender phase for high voltage and substation projects.* Collaborate with pre-contracts and estimating teams to develop accurate construction programs, resource plans, and risk assessments.* Participate in site visits and constructability reviews to inform bid strategies.* Support the handover from pre-contracts to delivery teams, ensuring continuity of knowledge and planning.* Oversee the development and execution of detailed construction programs for high voltage and substation works.* Ensure alignment of construction activities with engineering deliverables and procurement schedules.* Coordinate with the Superintendent and Foremen to manage subcontractor performance and site logistics.* Ensure compliance with relevant electrical safety regulations and utility provider standards (e.g., AusNet, Powerlink, Transgrid).* Maintain and monitor the master construction schedule, ensuring critical path activities are prioritised.* Accountable for project financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.* Work closely with commercial teams to manage subcontractor claims, variations, and procurement packages.* Collaborate with design managers and consultants to ensure constructability and timely delivery of IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings.**Required Skills and Competencies*** Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Trade Qualifications* 15+ years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role on substation high voltage BOP projects.* Proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects in a Tier 1 construction environment* Strong knowledge of high voltage construction methodologies, including plant erection, high voltage cable installation, conductor stringing, installation of control cables.
