Overview

Administration Officer - Emergency Department at South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Employment Type: Casual. Position Classification: Administration Officer Level 3. Remuneration: $34.47 - $35.54 per hour plus superannuation. Hours Per Week: up to 38 hours. Requisition ID: REQ596348. Applications close: Sunday 24 August 2025.


Role

Provide a range of administrative and clerical support services to enable the Adult Emergency Department at Prince of Wales Hospital to achieve their objectives in a timely, reliable and efficient manner.

Where you'll be working

Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.


Selection criteria

* Ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks, monitoring and determining work priorities to fulfil workflow as required in a busy working environment
* High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with a first class customer service approach
* Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service and quality improvement initiatives in workplace practices and procedures
* Demonstrated ability in the use of IT hardware and software, including Microsoft office applications such as Word, Outlook as well as hospital systems including IPM, EMR
* Excellent organisational skills with capacity to work under pressure maintaining attention to detail and meet deadlines
* Willing to actively participate in education and training in order to provide high quality, professional and customer focused service
* Commitment to participate within a rotating 24 hour/ 7 day a week roster
