The Role:
We are looking for part-time Disability Support Worker's to join our Canberra team. Key Responsibilities:
* Support participants with activities of daily living including personal care, living skills and recreational activities.
* Assistance with shopping and cooking.
* Assistance with transport and facilitate community participation.
* Administering First Aid and manage medical emergencies when required.
* Respite Care.
* Medication Supervision.
* Offer person centred support and care to aid participants independence, health and well-being.
* Encourage participants involvement within the community and assisting them to achieve their goals and making their life as fulfilling as possible.
* Complete charts during each shift including progress notes/behaviour chart/medication chart etc.
* Comply with NDIA Code of Conduct.
Essential Criteria:
Flexibility and availability is essential in this role, with the ability to work a variety of shifts; morning, day, afternoon, evening, and nights.
* Minimum Cert III in Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, Mental Health, Nursing or equivalent.
* 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in working with people with disability or lived experience.
* NDIS Screening Check (state based) (WWVP)
* Current drivers licence.
* Comprehensive Insurance.
* Vehicle comprehensive insurance and use of own car is required for work purposes.
* Valid work rights in Australia.
* Current National Police Check (within 12 months validity), (or be prepared to obtain)
* Current First Aid & CPR certification (or be prepared to obtain)
* NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
* Strong Communication skills.
* Willingness to work in the community.
