About the opportunity
We're currently recruiting a Payroll Officer to join our team based in Cranbourne, Melbourne VIC. This will be a casual position, 4 days a week, Monday, Tuesday, thursday and Friday, with the potential to become a permanent role. You will be reporting to Accounts Payable Officer, C.E.O, where you'll be responsible for providing end-to end payroll services.
As our payroll officer, you will be responsible for -
* Generating payroll for support workers on a weekly basis
* Answering payroll telephone enquiries and responding to email queries
* Process weekly, fortnightly monthly suppliers pay run including collecting and entering supplier invoices and responding to supplier queries.
* Reviewing AP ageing report and investigating aged invoices.
* Preparing the fortnightly payroll, including collection of required information eg leave forms & timesheets; liaising with the Scheduler to complete the weekly payroll timesheet.
* Entering bank transactions and reconciling bank accounts on monthly basis
* Recording credit card transactions and setting up monthly credit card repayments.
* Maintain and update employee records in payroll software and superannuation clearing house.
* Process staff reimbursements preparing bank payments for Director's approval.
* Assisting with NDIS claims including making claims from the NDIS portal, reconciling cash receipts and investigating discrepancies.
* Maintain and review debtors list liaising with service coordinators re debt collection and updating debtors' status.
* Assistant with recording vehicle kms of vehicles via the register on a regular basis for invoicing and making NDIS claims.
* Assisting with Terminations, Superannuation and Payroll Tax payments
* Month-end payroll reconciliations
* Handling all queries from staff with regards to their pay
* Update directors on all outstanding invoices and follow ups made fortnightly
* Other payroll duties as required
* Coordinate all new starters
* Respond to HR queries from staff
* Maintain employee records
* Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
* Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures
* Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
* Processing Accounts Payable invoices on a weekly basis
* Manage central bills/Finance inbox and respond to employee/external providers queries in a timely manner
* Strong computer literacy, including MS Office, Excel, Outlook and Xero, RAMS, NDIS portal
* Prepare separation certificates and payroll verification reports as required
* prepare monthly reports and annual budgets
* Ensure compliance with applicable legislative requirements, regulations and year end reconciliations, including - PAYG tax - Payroll tax - WorkCover - Superannuation - Long Service Leave Legislation - Workers Compensation claims submissions and maintenance - Apprentices Subsidy and Incentive claims
About you
As a professional, reliable and passionate Payroll Officer, you will have strong verbal and written communication skills. Ideally, you'll have a sound understanding of end-to-end payroll procedures. Experience with the following will be beneficial;
* Working knowledge of the SCHADS (Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services) Award
* Xero
* Experience with NDIS and community services sector payroll
