St Francis Xavier College is seeking a suitably experienced Canteen Assistant to join our team on a casual basis.

This position supports the day-to-day operation of the College canteens, providing food services to staff and students while maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment across our campuses.

The days and hours of work will vary based on operational needs and will generally be during school terms and school hours.

Key responsibilities include:

* Preparing, assembling and presenting food in line with food safety standards
* Operating point-of-sale systems and providing friendly customer service
* Managing student and staff lunch orders accurately and efficiently
* Replenishing, rotating and monitoring stock levels
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety
* Assisting with catering for College events and functions
* Supporting annual stocktake processes
* Undertaking additional duties as directed to support canteen operations
The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:
* Previous experience in a food service or canteen environment
* Sound understanding of food handling and food safety requirements
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
* Strong interpersonal skills and a positive approach when working with students and staff
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written
* Awareness of occupational health and safety requirements
* Current or willingness to obtain required compliance checks
