Ravenswood School for Girls is a Uniting Church Prep to Year 12 day and boarding school for girls located on Sydney's North Shore. Ravenswood offers both the HSC and the IB Diploma Programme as well as the PYP in the Junior School. We are seeking a Commerce and Business Studies teacher to join our Social Science Department on a temporary full time basis. This is a 12-month leave replacement position, concluding at the end of 2026.
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who demonstrates creativity and rigour in the delivery of curriculum and enjoys working in a committed and professional team.
Responsibilities
Deliver Commerce and Business Studies to Years 8–10 and teach Stage 6 HSC Business Studies/Economics courses as required.
Contribute to the delivery of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) where applicable.
Be an effective classroom teacher with an excellent understanding of the curriculum and differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
Demonstrate a passionate, creative and enthusiastic teaching style linked to the KLA and Positive Education framework; support wellbeing within the Christian ethos of the school.
Collaborate with colleagues and work as part of the Social Science Department team.
Qualifications
Experience teaching Years 8–10 Commerce.
Experience teaching Stage 6 HSC Business Studies/Economics courses.
Experience teaching International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is an advantage.
Strong ICT skills and a commitment to well-being within the school's Christian ethos.
