**About the role**:

- To operate dozer, compactor, excavator, front end loader, articulated dump trucks, hook truck and other plant and equipment as required to undertake efficient and safe landfill and transfer station operations
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Operate any plant or equipment up to 60 tonne gross vehicle mass associated with landfill and transfer station operations at the RDF including dozers, compactors and excavators fitted with GPS grade control system (Topcon, Carlson), grader, trucks, loaders, and other plant and equipment as instructed
- Maintain plant and equipment including conduct of pre-start checks, greasing and regular maintenance and washing/cleaning
- Document and report equipment defects or damage to minimise downtime
- Recover recyclable material from the Transfer Station and maximize the diversion of materials from landfill as instructed
- Direct customers and vehicles on site to ensure efficient and safe access
- Undertake housekeeping activities around site and facilities to ensure a well-maintained presentable site
- Undertake works according to approved plans, schedules and other related documents including
- Council standards and compliance requirements
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Considerable experience in a waste or resource recovery environment
- Sound knowledge and understanding of occupational health and safety and personnel practices
- and systems in the workplace
- A current Victorian Driver's licence
- A current Heavy Rigid (HR) licence
- High level of competence and appropriate licenses and tickets to operate plant and equipment including compactor, dozer, excavator, front end loader, articulated dump truck and hook truck
