The **Quality Department **currently has an opportunity for a **Quality Assurance Auditor **to join the team in support of current operations.
This key role will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating and conducting Quality Assurance activities across the business, including audit, quality investigations and the management of corrective actions.
Reporting to the Quality Manager this busy role is responsible for supporting the Operations teams to deliver the quality requirements of the business through practical QA controls. This
role will also support the Quality Manager with ensuring optimum functionality of the **Quality Management System** and control of associated documentation.
**_Key objectives & responsibilities:_**
- Develop strategies for the purpose of maintaining and improving the Austal Quality Management System.
- Plan, coordinate and conduct quality audits of the Austal Quality Management System in accordance with the audit schedule.
- Conduct quality audits of external organisations as required.
- Conduct Quality Assurance Inspections in accordance with the Austal QA Inspection schedule.
- Conduct OQE audits of records / documentation developed during business wide inspection and test related activities.
- Assist in the maintenance and deployment of the Austal Quality Management System documentation.
- Document quality issues and performance measures for management review.
- Administer business systems for monitoring and documenting quality issues and corrective actions.
- Support and assist supervisors and line management to undertake quality investigations.
- Conduct Quality event investigations as required, write investigation reports, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Develop and disseminate "Lesson Learnt" from investigation outcomes.
**_Desirable Skills / Experience / Attributes:_**
- Diploma or recognised equivalent certification in Quality Assurance, Lean Management, Engineering or Project Management.
- Previous industry experience working in a Quality Assurance role.
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Internal auditor training.
- Investigation training.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills in both written and spoken format.
- Analytical and problems solving skills.
- Conflict resolution, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
