Currently, there are around 5.5 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 717,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
The role is with the Service Delivery Risk and Audit team that supports Service Delivery Group's leadership team to proactively manage operational and strategic risks, obligations and audit issues in delivering the National Disability Insurance Scheme to participants. The team supports risk owners to identify and manage risks inherent in their operating activities and strategic initiatives. The team also facilitates improved risk awareness and training, reporting on emerging risk profiles and trends.

Duties of the role may include but are not limited to:
* Provide timely, relevant and pragmatic specialist risk advice and services to support the risk owners (senior executives) in risk identification, assessment and management of risks across all aspects of their strategic initiatives, operational and project activities.
* Lead and facilitate risk workshops/discussions with a diverse range of stakeholders (including senior executives) in driving critical risk discussions and the development of risk, controls and treatment action plans to mitigate risks and recording in the Agency's Integrated Risk Management System.
* Initiate, facilitate and lead in providing risk management training (framework and tools) and education program to improved risk awareness and support risk maturity initiatives of the Branch/business areas.
* Provide advice on emerging issues/risk profiles and reporting of critical issues and trends to stakeholders with supported analysis and insights.
* Provide coaching and operational support to risk advisors in all aspect of risk and issues management.

While this role is ideally performed from QLD - Robina and VIC - Geelong, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 18 months may be offered. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
